The Mechanic I is responsible for providing repair services on assigned airframe/aeronautical components and performing approved repairs. The ability to produce quality work in non-negotiable deadlines is part of this position. Essential Responsibilities include using schematic diagrams, drawings, charts and technical publications in operating, testing, removing, troubleshooting, and replacing aircraft system components; complying with FOD prevention, housekeeping, tool control, environmental and safety programs; adjusting, repairing, or replacing electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories; performing preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections; troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems; performing jacking and towing of aircraft; entering maintenance records; servicing engines and airframe components; performing aircraft conditional inspections; operating and inspecting ground support equipment; ordering parts and supplies; following technical data, manuals, regulations, company policy, and other maintenance directives; identifying and documenting aircraft discrepancies; participating in towing and movement of aircraft; removing, installing, opening, closing aircraft equipment and panels; and other related duties as assigned. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, minimum two years of Aircraft Mechanic experience, working knowledge of aircraft systems and tools, basic computer skills, professionalism, organizational and time management skills, ability to work under pressure, flexibility, knowledge of technical documents, ability to read and write English, valid driver’s license, and A&P preferred. The work environment involves physical demands such as lifting, bending, walking, crouching, climbing ladders, and wearing personal protective equipment. May work night shifts and in noisy or hazardous environments. Some domestic travel may be required. Safety, quality, and procedure compliance are emphasized. Amentum is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
