Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

In a supportive educational environment, professionals will provide essential communication services. This role is crucial for facilitating access to learning for students who are Deaf or hard of hearing in a K-12 setting.

Location: Desert Hot Springs, CA

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality sign language interpretation for students in classroom settings.
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to ensure effective communication and enhance student learning.
• Assess students' needs and tailor interpretation styles to fit individual requirements.
• Maintain professional standards and stay updated with best practices in interpretation.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the development of inclusive practices.

Qualifications:

• Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI).
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of Deaf culture.
• Experience working in educational settings, particularly with K-12 students, is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and families.
• Ability to work full-time, 30 hours a week, onsite.
