We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef de Cuisine to lead the culinary team at a renowned French bistro located in Midtown NYC. Known for its vibrant energy, loyal clientele, and timeless approach to French cuisine, this flagship restaurant offers an exciting opportunity for a culinary leader who thrives in a refined yet dynamic setting.
This role works closely under the guidance of the Executive Chef and is ideal for someone who values a collaborative culture, strong work-life balance, and the opportunity to help shape one of NYC’s most beloved dining destinations.
What We OfferBase Salary: $125,000 – $140,000 annually
Bonus: Eligible after one year of employment
Schedule: 5-day workweek with 2 consecutive days off (typically Monday–Friday, 9:00am–8:00pm)

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Chef de Cuisine will oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including leading a team of Sous Chefs and cooks, managing purchasing and inventory, maintaining health and safety standards, and ensuring exceptional quality and consistency across all dishes.
Key Responsibilities Finance & PurchasingMonitor and manage food and labor costs to meet profitability targets
Maintain accurate recipe costing and inventory records
Oversee purchasing, establish order guides, and control stock levels
Build relationships with vendors and secure high-quality products at competitive prices
Develop weekly specials and contribute to seasonal menu changes
Uphold food quality through daily tastings and hands-on leadership
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen that meets all regulatory standards
Collaborate with FOH teams to ensure seamless service and exceptional guest experience
Train, mentor, and manage kitchen staff to promote professional development
Lead daily prep and pre-service meetings
Coordinate with HR on staffing, onboarding, and training
Inspire a team culture rooted in excellence, accountability, and respect
Minimum 2–3 years in a Chef de Cuisine or equivalent leadership role
Background in fine dining; experience under Michelin-starred leadership highly preferred
Solid foundation in classic French cuisine
NYC restaurant experience strongly preferred
Current Food Handler’s Certification
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
