Key Responsibilities: Strategic and Technical Leadership Guide complex projects from concept to deployment, setting technical direction and ensuring data solutions meet real-world needs. Serve as a trusted technical mentor for junior analysts, fostering a culture of best practices and compliance with data privacy standards like HIPAA. Data Engineering and Architecture Architect, build, and optimize advanced data pipelines and ETL workflows for large-scale, complex data ecosystems. Seamlessly integrate diverse data sources to create cohesive, high-performance solutions that power research and operational excellence. Apply biomedical informatics and data governance to ensure quality, reliability, and compliance. Author clear, comprehensive architecture documentation that sets the foundation for future innovation. Lead metadata management and data standardization initiatives to improve data usability and discoverability. Collaboration and Communication Collaborate with researchers, clinicians, and operational stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into impactful engineering solutions. Partner with cross-functional technical teams to deliver data products that drive meaningful outcomes. Communicate your technical vision clearly, bridging gaps between data engineering and broader organizational goals. Key Skills & Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Informatics, Data Science, or a related field. At least 5 years of experience designing and managing data pipelines, ETL processes, and data integration initiatives. Proven ability to lead small technical teams and navigate cross-functional collaboration in complex environments. Strong expertise in data architecture, data modeling, and data governance. Deep understanding of data privacy and regulatory compliance, especially in healthcare (HIPAA). Preferred: Experience working in academic medical centers or clinical research environments. Advanced knowledge of data engineering tools (e.g., Python, Spark, SQL, Airflow). Familiarity with data visualization platforms and metadata management tools.
