Our team launched Quest 3S in 2024 that our customers are using today to explore new and novel MR experiences. Our platform has a thriving 3rd party development ecosystem with multiple dozens of million+ revenue VR titles. This position presents a unique opportunity to join a team core to the MR/VR experience as we create the foundation for the next general computing platform. The potential of VR to connect the world is immense — and we’re just getting started.The Shell team's mission is to deliver a system platform that enables developers to build rich spatial experiences and applications on top of the core Android operating system. As a central component at the heart of the system, Shell interacts at multiple levels with applications - from lifecycle to window management and everything in between.We are building a system with a rich user experience that combines 2D and 3D elements in the system Shell and are looking for an engineering manager to help us build key capabilities to expand the experience and build APIs and frameworks for internal and external developers. A successful candidate in this role is proactive, has experience communicating with multiple partners, and experience driving projects successfully across multiple teams working on different areas of a product stack. **Required Skills:** Software Engineering Manager - Shell Responsibilities:

1. Manage engineering teams by mentoring, empowering their growth, and helping them deliver impact.
2. Champion engineering and operational experience, establishing metrics and processes for regular assessment and improvement.
3. Communicate cross-functionally across various teams, organizations and internal and external stakeholders to drive engineering efforts.
4. Use in-depth technical understanding and cross-functional relationships to successfully set long and short term directional goals, aspirational engineering goals, and intermediate milestones.
5. Use influence and cross-functional relationships to drive progress on goals.
6. Recruit engineers, identifying talent gaps and the people required to fill them.
7. Create career development plans, manage performance and performance reviews.

**Minimum Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: 8. 4+ years of experience managing engineers. 9. 10+ years of work experience developing and launching software products 10. Experience leading development teams shipping software products through multiple releases 11. Experience solving complex gameplay and UX problems in 3D interactive products or AAA games **Preferred Qualifications:** Preferred Qualifications: 12. Experience with Unreal and/or Unity 13. Experience building platforms or frameworks in the OS layer 14. Experience with Android development 15. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or similar field **Public Compensation:** $177,000/year to $251,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
